DigiSakhi Partners with Indian Bank for Women’s Financial Literacy
A step toward making digital banking simple, safe, and accessible for women through financial literacy and confidence-building.

Digital banking has become a part of everyday life in India. From UPI payments to online banking, from checking account balances to receiving government benefits, financial services are becoming more digital than ever before.
But for many women, especially in rural and semi-urban communities, digital banking is still not easy to access or understand. It is not because they cannot learn. It is because they have not always been given the right support, guidance, or confidence to use these services independently.
This is the gap DigiSakhi is working to fill.
DigiSakhi is a women-focused digital financial literacy initiative created to help women understand banking, digital payments, online financial safety, and basic financial services in a simple and practical way. Our goal is to make women feel confident while using digital banking tools such as UPI, mobile banking, ATM services, and online transactions.
With this vision, DigiSakhi collaborated with Indian Bank, one of India’s leading public sector banks, to conduct a digital financial literacy event for women. The collaboration focused on helping women set up their bank accounts and understand the complete digital banking process. The event was designed to make banking less confusing and more approachable for women who are often left behind in the digital financial system.
For many women, opening a bank account is only the first step. The real impact begins when they understand how to use that account confidently and safely.
During the DigiSakhi × Indian Bank event, women were guided through important aspects of banking and digital financial literacy. They learned about bank account usage, digital payments, UPI awareness, online banking safety, OTP protection, fraud prevention, and how to become more independent while managing their money. The aim was not to make the session complicated or technical. The aim was to make banking simple.
Many women hesitate to use digital banking because they fear making mistakes. Some are scared of online fraud. Some do not know how UPI works. Some depend on family members to check bank messages, make payments, or understand account-related information.
DigiSakhi wants to change that.
Through this initiative, we want women to know that digital banking is not only for the educated, the young, or the urban. It is for every woman who wants to access her money, understand her bank account, and participate confidently in the digital economy.
What makes this collaboration even more meaningful is that DigiSakhi and Indian Bank share a long-term partnership.
This is not just a one-time event.
Indian Bank will support DigiSakhi through onboarding, knowledge transfer, banking guidance, and access to practical financial information. This long-term relationship will help DigiSakhi create a stronger support system for women who want to learn and use digital banking services safely. This partnership matters because financial inclusion is not only about giving people access to bank accounts. True financial inclusion happens when people understand how to use banking services confidently.
A bank account that remains unused does not create empowerment. But a bank account that a woman knows how to operate, protect, and access can become a tool of independence. This is where DigiSakhi and Indian Bank come together.
DigiSakhi brings community connection, relatability, and on-ground understanding. Indian Bank brings banking knowledge, institutional support, and credibility. Together, this partnership creates a bridge between women and the digital banking system. The event also showed us that women are ready to learn when they are given a safe and supportive space. They asked questions, shared doubts, and showed curiosity about digital payments, account safety, and banking processes.
Some wanted to understand how UPI works. Some wanted to know what to do if someone asks for their OTP. Some wanted to learn how to identify fraud calls and fake messages. Some simply needed someone to explain banking to them with patience.
That is the heart of DigiSakhi.
When a woman learns how to use digital banking, she does not just learn how to use an app. She learns how to access her own money. She learns how to protect herself from fraud. She learns how to make informed financial decisions. She learns that banking is not something she has to depend on others for.
The DigiSakhi × Indian Bank collaboration is a step toward making digital financial literacy more accessible to women across communities.
As India continues to move toward a more digital economy, women must not be left behind. Digital financial literacy for women is not just important for individual independence. It is important for families, communities, and the larger goal of inclusive growth.
Through this partnership with Indian Bank, DigiSakhi aims to reach more women, create more awareness, and make digital banking less intimidating. The goal is to help women understand banking in a way that is simple, safe, and useful in their everyday lives.
This collaboration is more than an event update.
A step toward stronger financial inclusion. 💜

Wonder Women with UPI: A Field Note from Faridabad
On an automotive factory floor in Faridabad, women who handle precision machines with confidence still hesitated when it came to using UPI. DigiSakhi turned this hesitation into learning by designing short, shift-friendly sessions that connected digital payments to concepts they already understood—process control, safety checks, and verification. Through ₹1 practice transfers, scam-awareness drills, and simple rules like never sharing PINs or OTPs, the women began using digital money with confidence, proving that unfamiliarity, not inability, is the real barrier.

Promoting Financial Literacy in India: Advancing DigiSakhi’s Mission for Women’s Financial Empowerment
Financial literacy in India is no longer just about opening bank accounts; it is about helping people, especially women, understand and confidently use financial tools. Despite progress through government schemes and digital banking, many women still face barriers such as low awareness, language gaps, mistrust, digital fear, and limited decision-making power. DigiSakhi aims to bridge this gap by making financial and digital literacy simple, practical, and accessible, empowering women to make informed choices and turn financial access into real independence.
